ÇÒ¸Ó´Ï, ÇÒ¸Ó´Ï, ¿ì¸® ÇÒ¸Ó´Ï (I Miss My Grandma)-¿µ¾î/ÇѱÛ

The person I hope to see first when I get to heaven is my wife. The next is my grandmother. As I¡¯ve posted before, my parents went to North Korea during the Korean War, leaving me and my brother behind. So my grandmother raised us.
She was a warm and loving person. On New Year's Eve, she used to have me deliver coal, meat or eggs to poor families although we were not rich by any means. Usually teenagers would hate to go on errands like this, but I didn't mind. I actually enjoyed doing it.
My grandfather, a pastor, was a well-respected man but a terrible breadwinner. His salary was so meager that my grandmother had to support the family by providing room and board to college students studying in Seoul. Most of them were sons or daughters of pastors doing ministry in rural areas.
She was a thoughtful person. I remember that she didn¡¯t come to church after her husband was taken to the North. Her excuse was that she couldn¡¯t sit through services because of her poor health, but everyone knew that she was concerned that she might attract too much attention (her husband had pastored the church for 23 years) and make the current pastor¡¯s wife uncomfortable.
Although she stayed home, she had a constant stream of visitors, most of whom were pastors' wives seeking her advice. My grandmother usually said nothing, just listening patiently, sometimes for hours.
She followed me to the US soon after I came to Ohio State University for graduate work. She lived with my wife and me, helping us while we were studying. My uncles and aunts also wanted her at their homes, so she lived in a few different places before passing away at the age of 92. Many people came to her funeral, including many pastors. People shared how she loved, encouraged and helped them. The prevailing mood was joy. Someone commented that they felt like they were at a wedding, not a funeral.
I long for Heaven where my wife and grandma are waiting for me.
