진화론의 허점(Flaws of the Evolutionary Theory)-영어/한글
It is not uncommon for young people who grew up in the church to stop attending once they enter college. This has become a prominent trend in Korea. I suspect one of the reasons may be that they are taught that Evolutionary Theory is scientific and factual. This may create a sense of intellectual shock, which then makes them question their faith.
I take Evolution as a theory but not as truth. The theory has two critical flaws.
First, evolutionists claim that evolution occurred “naturally” without help outside of nature - namely, God. But in natural states, matters do not advance to a higher state without energy added to it. For example, an apple rots when left by itself. It never gets fresher. Without God the only mechanism that operates in nature is natural selection. This mechanism alone can’t make animals evolve to a higher form. It happens because God planted genetic information for evolution in DNA.
Second, evolutionists claim that living organisms evolved from non-organics, which in turn formed proteins, which then combined to form DNA, and so on, until finally they became the various animals (including human beings) that we know today - all “naturally”. But an evolution from one species to another has never been observed in nature or successfully demonstrated in a lab by scientists. The boundary of each species is set by genetics. Micro-evolution is possible within a species, like how wolves can evolve to dogs. But the macro-evolution from one species to another is not - wolves will never become cats.
Evolution Theory that claims that amoebas evolved into fish, fish into frogs, into monkeys, and into humans is just that, a theory. It is one of many theories that have tried to explain the origin of life and the existence of a variety of species based on fossil evidence. Based on fossil evidence alone, Creation Theory (not necessarily Creation Science) is actually more reasonable in explaining the origin and diversification of various species.
Many people, especially those in academics, reject Creation Theory and consider creationists as uneducated and unintellectual simpletons. I suspect that they staunchly defend Evolution because the alternative would obligate them to consider a God who creates, which they would never do.
Christians needn’t be intimidated by Evolution Theory, but simply accept it as a theory.

청소년 때까지는 교회 다니다가 대학에 가서 교회와 발을 끊는 학생들이 많아진다고 합니다. 진화론으로 인한 지적 충격도 한 몫을 하지 않나 싶습니다. 교회에서는 창조론을 배웠는데, 대학교에서는 진화론을 당연한 진리로 가르치고, 창조론을 주장하는 사람은 무지한 인간으로 취급하기 때문입니다.
저는 진화론을 하나의 이론으로는 인정하지, 진리로는 받아드리지 않습니다. 이 이론은 두 개의 큰 허점을 갖고 있기 때문입니다.
첫째, 진화론자들은 진화가 하나님의 존재 없이 자연적으로 일어났다고 주장하는데, 외부의 힘이 가해지지 않은 상태에서는, 퇴화가 일어나지 진화가 일어나는 법이 없습니다. 예를 들면 사과를 책상에 놓아 두면 썩어 버리지 더 싱싱해지지 않습니다. 외부적인 힘이 부과되지 않는다면, 자연 선택(the natural selection)만이 생물계를 지배하는 유일한 원칙인데, 이 원칙만으로는 오늘날과 같은 다양한 생물들이 생겨날 수 없습니다. 하나님께서 진화을 가능케 하는 정보를 유전자에 만들어 넣으셨기 때문에, 환경에 따라 다양한 형태로 변화하는 소진화가 가능했습니다.
둘째, 진화론자들은 ‘자연적으로’ 무기질이 합쳐서 단백질이 생성되고, 단백질이 합쳐져서 DNA 가 만들어지고, 오랜 세월에 걸쳐 아메바로 형성되고, 이것이 물고기가 되고, 물고기가 개구리가 되고, 개구리가 늑대가 되는 식으로 진화가 진행되었다고 주장합니다. 그런데 한 종이 새로운 종으로 진화되는 것은 관찰된 적도 없고, 실험적으로 성공한 사례도 없습니다. 진화는 한 종이라는 울타리 안에서 변화하는 소진화만 가능합니다. 늑대가 개로 진화할 수는 있지만, 늑대가 고양이로 진화할 수는 없다는 말입니다. 늑대와 고양이가 많은 유전자를 공유하듯이, 원숭이와 인간도 많은 유전자를 공유합니다. 그러나 다른 종에 속합니다. 그러므로 원숭이가 진화하여 인간이 되었다는 것은 과학적인 근거가 없는 추론에 지나지 않습니다. 모든 종은 하나님께서 창조하셨습니다.
진화론은 화석에 근거하여 생명체의 기원과 발달을 설명하는 이론 중의 하나입니다. 사실 화석의 증거만 갖고 본다면 진화론보다는 창조론이 생명체의 다양성을 설명하는데 더 논리적이고 합리적입니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 진화론자들이 창조론을 거부하고 진화론을 목숨을 거는 이유는, 창조를 인정하면 하나님의 존재를 인정해야 하기 때문입니다. 죽어도 하나님은 인정하고 싶지 않은 것입니다.
크리스천들, 특히 젊은 학생들은, 진화론 앞에서 너무 위축되거나 거부감 느끼지 말고, 하나의 이론으로 편안하게 받아들이면 좋겠습니다.
