인복(人福) 많은 사나이 (My Indispensable Ministry Partners.)-영어/한글
When I went home to Houston last month, I wanted to sell my house since I recently decided to become a permanent resident of Korea. I am also planning to apply for Korean citizenship. I felt I could do more for the expansion of House Church if I reside in Korea. I believe a true servnt of the Lord should be where he is needed most.
Closing the life chapter of my 50 years in the US was not trivial. I was extremely busy the whole month I was in Houston.
It was still dark when I was getting ready to leave for the airport at 5:00 am, but someone came to my door with breakfast in a small basket. It was sister Young Il Park, the wife of Tae Woo Park. Mr. Park had organized, directed, and implemented three building projects for Seoul Baptist, all without pay. Mrs. Park had been the first person to welcome me when I came to Houston, and she was the last person I saw before I left Houston. She owns a real estate company and is taking full control of the sale of my house.
Kristina Kim is taking on the duties of either selling or donating all the furniture and kitchenware. Kristina and her husband Eugene have not only provided me with a rent-free apartment in Seoul, but even pay for a weekly helper to come and clean.
I have a few things I do well, but I am completely clueless about many things. I am also not a multi-tasker, so I generally can only handle one task at a time. I wouldn’t have been able to do my ministry all these years without people like these two sisters, who graciously take the responsibility of my affairs as their own. I owe any fruitfulness of my ministry to these faithful, loving, and dedicated people.

이번에 휴스턴을 방문하고 돌아올 때, 살던 집을 매물로 내놓았습니다. 30년을 살던 집입니다. 대한민국 국적을 회복하고, 한국에서 영주하기로 결정했기 때문입니다.
이렇게 결정한 데에는, 피부 색깔과 언어가 같은 사람들 틈에서 인생을 마감하고 싶다는 욕구도 있었지만, 이것이 가정교회 전파와 정착을 가장 효율적으로 돕는 길이라고 판단했기 때문입니다. 주의 종이라면 주님이 가장 요긴하게 쓸 수 있는 곳에 있어야 한다고 생각합니다.
50년의 미국 생활을 청산하는 것이 만만치 않았습니다. 온갖 정리를 하느라 한 달을 정신 없이 보냈습니다. 한국으로 돌아오는 날 새벽 5시에 공항으로 출발하려는데, 한 자매가 깜깜한 새벽에 김밥과 간식을 손에 들고 집 문 앞에 서있었습니다. 박영일 목녀였습니다. 기대하지 못했던 배웅이었습니다. 휴스턴에 처음 왔을 때 맞아주었던 분이 박 목녀였는데, 휴스턴을 마지막을 떠날 때 배웅해준 사람이 박 목녀가 되었습니다. ^^;
박영일 목녀의 남편 박태우 집사님은 제가 휴스턴 서울교회를 담임하는 동안, 3번의 건축을 한 푼의 사례도 받지 않고 전적으로 책임지고 끝내주었습니다. 박 목녀는 이번 제 집 매각을 전적으로 맡아주기로 했습니다. 저는 매매 계약서에 서명한 하면 되도록 하겠다고 합니다.
휴스턴 집에서 사용하던 가구와 집기는, 김은미 목녀가 맡아 처분해주기로 했습니다. 김은미/김홍근 집사 내외는 서울에 있는 아파트를 무상으로 제공하고, 매주 1회 사람을 보내 청소, 빨래, 음식 마련을 도와주고 있는데, 이번 휴스턴 집 정리도 맡아주었습니다.
저는 잘 하는 것 몇 가지 있지만, 못하는 것이 많습니다. 게다가 한 번에 한 가지 일밖에 못합니다. 단순히 돕는 것이 아니라, 전적으로 책임져주는 사람이 없으면 목회를 할 수 없는데, 하나님께서 두 자매님 같은 분들을 많이 보내주셔서 목회에 전념할 수 있게 해주셨습니다.
제가 하나님께 받은 복 중 가장 큰 것이 인복입니다.
