분노 담긴 비판, 소용 없습니다 (Angry Criticism Does Not Bring Change)-영어/한글
In Korea, there are those who vehemently criticize churches, but I wonder if their efforts could ever cause the reformation they desire.
First of all, their criticisms are mostly directed in regard to church organizations or programs. But the church is the people- a community of people who profess Jesus Christ is their Lord. There will be no change in the church unless the people themselves change.
Secondly, many of these critics are full of anger, even if it is righteous anger. James says human anger doesn’t produce God’s righteousness(James 1:20). Angry criticism can make the church look like a corrupted institution to outsiders, so rather than bringing about effective change, it results in making evangelism even harder.
The house churches have been focusing on people. We reached out to non-believers and made them disciples of Jesus. In doing so, the ills of traditional churches involving church finance, election of leaders and leadership transfer simply disappeared.

교회의 부조리와 비리를 맹렬하게 비판하는 사람들이 있습니다. 이런 사람들이 쓴 글을 읽으면, 가려운 데를 긁어주는 듯한 시원함이 있습니다. 그러나 이런 글들이 교회를 바꿀 수 있을까, 의문이 생깁니다.
비판의 대상은 주로 교회 조직, 운영 방법, 교회법입니다. 그러나 제도나 조직을 바꾼다고 교회가 정화되지 않습니다. 교회는 건물도, 조직도 아니고 사람이기 때문입니다. 사람이 바뀌지 않는 한 교회의 병폐와 부조리는 사라지지 않습니다.
이런 비판이 교회를 바꿀 수 없는 또 하나의 이유는, 비판하는 사람들이 분노에 차있기 때문입니다. 본인들은 단순한 분노가 아니라 의분이라고 믿지만, 야고보는 인간의 분노는 하나님의 의를 이루지 못한다고 말했습니다(약 1:20). 분노한 사람들의 비판은 교회에 정화를 가져오기보다는 교회에 대한 염오감을 심어줘서, 비신자 전도만 힘들게 만듭니다.
진정으로 교회를 갱신하기 위해서는, 비판보다 건강한 교회를 세우는데 집중해야 합니다. 건강한 교회가 세워지면 교회의 비리는 저절로 사라집니다.
가정교회에서는 재정 불투명으로 인한 문제, 중직자 선출로 인한 잡음, 후임 목사 선정에 따르는 비리 등, 일반 교회에서 흔히 보는 부정적인 현상들을 보기 힘듭니다. 성경적인 교회를 세워보려고 노력하니까 교회가 건강해 지고, 교회가 건강해지니까 비위와 부조리가 저절로 사라지는 것 같습니다.
