Áï¼® ±âµµºÎŹ »çÀý(No Thanks to Impromtu Prayer Request) -¿µ¾î/ÇѱÛ
Many pastors, when prayer is requested of them, will lay hands on people and pray for them at that moment. I am generally hesitant to do this. People often believe that I somehow have the power to have their prayers immediately answered.
I am also hesitant because I am not always sure of what God s will is for them. Consequently, I cannot always have faith that God will answer the prayers I offer on their behalf.
So I usually refuse impromptu prayer requests, knowing it may offend or hurt people who ask for them.
I hope people understand that intercessory prayer is hard work and not something to be asked for casually. I also hope people do not offhandedly promise to pray unless they actually intend to do so.
As for me, when someone asks me to pray for them, I don t respond if I don t truly intend to pray. I may offer a quick silent prayer in my mind immediately after the request. Sometimes I promise to pray for three days or seven days, depending on the seriousness of the prayer topic. And I always pray as promised.
