´ãÀÓ ¸ñ»ç¸¦ ÁÁ¾ÆÇؾßÇÕ´Ï´Ù (Love Your Pastors)-¿µ¾î/ÇѱÛ
I think all churches, even thriving and growing ones, have some conflict between their pastors and lay leaders.
The most common complaints I hear from lay leaders are that their pastors don¡¯t listen to people and that their words can¡¯t be trusted.
When people have these kinds of negative feelings about their pastors, it becomes difficult for them to pay attention to the pastor¡¯s sermons or submit to him. Consequently, their faith suffers.
I encourage lay leaders to engage in some self-reflection to determine whether their negative perceptions of their pastor could be a result of misunderstanding or prejudice. This would be to everyone¡¯s benefit, but especially for the lay leader.
When it comes to a lack of communication, are lay leaders frustrated because the pastor didn¡¯t accept their suggestions? Pastors cannot simply implement every recommendation from church members because not all of them are good for the church. He must make this judgement because it¡¯s his responsibility to care for the church, and he knows the church¡¯s needs much better than the lay leaders. Instead of being a communication issue, the issue may be that lay leaders wrongly believe that all their ideas must be accepted and implemented.
If lay leaders feel that they can¡¯t trust their pastor¡¯s words, have they considered that they may have misunderstood or misconstrued what the pastor said? Such miscommunication happens quite often in daily life.
If lay leaders don¡¯t trust their pastor, their spiritual growth will be thwarted. For their own sake, they must check facts, search their hearts, and carefully assess situations before developing a negative perception of their pastors.
