복음이 안 먹히는 시대(Hard Time for Evangelism)- 영어/한글
Evangelizing to unbelievers is getting more and more difficult. Church planting is also harder. We are living in an era in which the gospel has become counter cultural.
Feeling guilt or shame is avoided at all costs. School teachers and counselors are trained to prevent students from feeling guilty, no matter the situation. People boast about their loose morals and are hailed as heroes for “living their best lives.”
Sin and sin consciousness have also disappeared. In the past, a US presidential candidate had to resign from candidacy because he had taken a single photo with a woman other than his wife. Now a person with multiple divorces who boasts of having immoral sexual relations with many women can be elected as the US president.
In a world that does not acknowledge sin itself, can one be deeply affected by the fact that Jesus died for human sin? In a pluralistic era where there is no absolute right or wrong, can one accept that Jesus is the only Savior and that one must believe in Jesus to be saved?
Despite these discouraging circumstances, people continue to be saved through house church. They are drawn to the warm church community and genuine service, then they are convicted through love rather than a logical approach.

비신자 전도가 점점 어려워지고 있습니다. 교회 개척도 힘들어지고 있습니다. 가치관의 변화로 인하여 복음이 안 먹혀 들어가는 시대가 되었기 때문입니다.
죄책감이 사라졌습니다. 학교 교사나 상담가는 죄책감을 없애주는 것을 교육이나 상담의 목표로 삼습니다. 수치심도 사라졌습니다. 자신이 동성애자인 것을 자랑하며, 이를 공개적으로 밝히는 사람들을 영웅이라고 치켜 세웁니다.
죄도, 죄의식도 사라졌습니다. 전에는 미국 대통령 후보가, 아내 아닌 여성과 함께 찍은 사진 한 장 때문에 후보직을 사퇴하기도 했는데, 이혼의 경력이 있을 뿐 아니라 수많은 여자들과 성관계를 가진 것을 자랑하는 사람이 미국 대통령으로 당선되었습니다.
죄 자체를 인정하지 않는 세상에서, 예수님께서 인간의 죄를 위해 돌아가셨다는 메시지가 감동을 주기 어렵습니다. 절대적으로 옳은 것도, 그른 것도 없는 상대적 가치관이 지배하는 세상에서, 예수님만이 구세주이고, 예수를 믿어야만 구원을 얻는다는 복음은 편협하게만 들릴뿐입니다.
이런 악조건에도 불구하고, 가정교회에 계속 구원받는 사람들이 생기고 있는 것은, 논리로 설득하려기보다 따뜻한 교회 공동체와 진정한 섬김으로 접근하기 때문이라고 생각합니다.
