한국교회에 소망이 있을까? (Is There Hope for Korean Churches?)-Kor/Eng
한국 기독교가 쇠락하고 있는 것이 아니라, 이미 몰락했는데 가시화 되는데 시간이 걸리고 있을 뿐이라고 말하는 분들이 있습니다. 마음에 아프지만 저도 이 진단에 동의하지 않을 수가 없습니다. 많은 분들이 몰락을 막아보려고 안간힘을 쓰지만 별 효과가 없는 것 같습니다. 이제 남은 것은 ‘소돔과 고모라 의인 10명’을 만드는 것뿐이 아닌가 생각합니다.
창세기에 보면 주의 천사가 아브라함에게 나타나 소돔과 고모라 멸망을 예고합니다. 아브라함은 두 도시를 위해 간구합니다. 그 결과, 50명의 의인만 있으면 도시를 멸망하지 않겠다는 약속을 받아냈고, 의인이 10명만 있어도 멸망치 않겠다는 양보까지 받아냈지만, 결국 소돔과 고모라는 멸망하고 말았습니다. 10명의 의인조차 없었다는 뜻입니다.
지금 한국 교회가 몰락하는 것은, 이스라엘이 그랬던 것처럼 부름의 사명을 망각했기 때문이라고 생각합니다. 죄로 깨어진 세상을 하나님께로 회복시키라는, 주님이 주신 사명을 무시했기 때문에, 이스라엘에게 내렸던 동일한 하나님의 진노가 임하는 것이라고 생각합니다.
이 진노를 막는 길은, 소돔과 고모라의 10명의 의인에 해당하는 교회를 세우는 것뿐이라고 생각합니다. 목회자는 성경적인 목회를 하고, 성도들은 성경적인 삶을 살고, 교회는 부름의 목적에 충실하는, 성경적인 교회.
이러한 10명의 의인에 해당하는 교회가 되어보려고 가정교회는 오늘도 숨차게 달리고 있습니다. .

Korean churches are on a downward spiral. The number of Christians is dwindling, and young people are leaving the church. I think the main reason is because churches have become permeated with secular values, abandoning Christian ones. Many efforts to stop the decline doesn’t seem to be working. It feels as though Korea has come to the point where we must build churches reflective of the “ten righteous people” in the Sodom and Gomorrah story.
In chapter 18 of Genesis, the angel of the Lord visited Abraham and announced that He will destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham pleaded for the inhabitants, haggled on their behalf, and was given the promise that God would not destroy the town if just ten righteous people could be found there. But it was destroyed, along with all the people living there. Evidently there were not even ten righteous people. These cities could have avoided God’s wrath if there had been only ten righteous people.
I think God’s wrath is evident through the demise of Korean churches. They have forgotten their mission - restore broken lives, families, societies and nature. We can escape His wrath by building churches, the “ten righteous people of Sodom and Gomorrah,” where church leaders obey the Word, and church members live according to the Bible. The House Churches are striving to become such churches.
