2. The Cause of the Church Division (02)
And professor Hyun Seol Hong has analogized that most
debates of doctrinal and theological problems as a matter of
fact, are not more than the conflict of the Ecclesiastical authority
camouflaged, and there are many problems of which they are
excuse and hypocrisy in the fiery tone of the would-be orthodox
school in theology.
But Dr. E. H. Kim (John E. Kim) a famous theologian of Korean
church history in conservative theology has pointed out that the
important cause of church division must be in consequence of
that theological discrepancy in his book “The Conservative
Theology to be Challenge” from beginning to end.
Particularly, he has emphasized the dispute of the theological
thought in the Princeton Theological University (Department of
Theological Seminary) from which Korean Church has been
influenced by the American missionaries, the theological debate
between professor Dr. Hyong Yong Park and professor Jae Joon
Kim which had had once an effect on Korean Church division
and the theological dispute between W.C.C. and N.A.E. as the
vivid witnesses of Korean Church history.

그리고 홍현설 교수는 “교리와 신학문제들에 대한 논쟁의 대부분
이 사실상 하나의 위장된 교권투쟁에 불과하다”고 분석하고 자칭
정통주의 학파로 자처하는 사람들의 열띤 논쟁에도 많은 구실과
위선이 있다고 논박했다.
그러나 보수주의 신학의 저명한 역사신학자 김의환 박사는 그의
“도전받는 보수신학”이란 저서에서 시종일관 교회분열의 중대한
원인을 신학사상의 투쟁에 있음을 지적하고 있다.
특히, 한국교회에 직접적인 강력한 영향을 미쳤든 미국 선교사들
의 모교인 프리스톤대학 신학부의 신학사상의 분쟁부터, 박형룡,
김재준 양 교수의 신학논쟁이 한국교회에 미친 분열의 영향,
W.C.C.와 N.A.E. 간의 신학적 분쟁 등 한국교회사의 역사적 산 증
