A hard saying to understand] (24) (What is the Relation between Original Sin and Actual Sin?) (¿µ¹®) ❓❓❓
¿øÁË¿Í ÀÚ¹üÁËÀÇ °ü°è´Â ¹«¾ùÀΰ¡?

Giving the definitions of original sin and actual sin, and biblically arranging them as well, we should precisely analyze and synthesize them at the anthropo-hamaltiological and soteriological dimensions. The original sin originated in a free act of Adam as the representative of the human race, a transgression of the law of God and a corruption of human nature, which rendered him liable to the punishment of God (Berkhof).

But the actual sin means the sin in which the evil desire and act resulted after his birth under the original sin. Every man is guilty in Adam, and is consequently born with a depraved and corrupt nature. Therefore Adam's sin is just the sin of all the descendants(Rom. 5:14-19; 1 Cor. 15:22). This inner corruption is the unholy fountain of all actual sins.

The original sin is the root of the actual sins. and the actual sins are produced by the depravation of nature derived from the original sin. Therefore if the original sin has been redeemed, the actual sins should have been redeemed. Even though a tree is cut down but alive for a while because there is some breath in it after rooting out of the tree, in fact, the tree has died in consequence likewise. In this way, the original sin was blotted out through the redemption on the cross of Christ, and promised the redemption of the actual sins at the same time. This is theologically called eschatological frame, \"already but not yet.\"

Because the original sin was once blotted out for the death Jesus died, a great many of the actual sins have been promised to blot out. Beacuse the actual sins were derived from the corruption of the nature by the original sin. And then what is the actual sins which the believers transgress the laws in the lifetime after they born again in the Spirit to be the righteous, and their sins were blotted out? Hereafter there is a part of which has to be clear. In other words, we have to distinguish the believer's actual sins from the unbeliever's actual sins. Of course, their actual sin is all unrighteousness. In this sense their transgressions are all sin.

The Bible expresses all \"unrighteousness\" as \"sin\" without clear cut distinction between original sin and actual sin (Rom. 1:29; 1 John 5:17). Therefore it is confused. But John has arranged well that there is a sin which does not lead to death while does lead to death(1 John 1:9; 5:16-17). In conclusion, even though the believers already freed from the original sin may transgress the actual sins by the \"corrupted humanity\" under the influence of the original sin, basically because the original sin died, not leading to eternal death, and those must be blotted out by the means of chastening and repenting.

But the unbelievers who have not been forgiven for the original sin must be led to death at last because they did not free from even the actual sins connected with the original sin. Because there exists characteristic difference of the actual sins between the believer and the unbeliever. Strictly speaking, even though the unbelievers seem to be perished due to their actual sin of the eyes in the world, basically they are perished due to the original sin. But the believers do not perish due to the actual sin because the original sin died, and they do not perish forever because they must repent of their actual sins in the world.

Some pastor raised a question in an interesting argument. His question is as follows: \"because visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations, but showing mercy to thousands,\"(Ex. 20:5-6) and visiting the sin of Adam and Eve(Rom. 5:14, 15, 18).

(1) you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me\"(Ex. 20:5-6). And (2) Jesus said to him, \"I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven,\"(Matt. 18:20) but God did not forgive the sin of Adam and Eve not only three times or seven times but rather lead once a iniquity(original sin) to thousands of their descendants. Is it unfair for them?

\"Of course, I thought that it should be so good if the absolute God had tolerantly forgiven the first transgression of Adam as He asked for us to forgive others.....\"For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners(Rom. 5:18), so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous\"(Rom. 5:19). But God clearly said\"The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son\"(Ezk. 18:20). Therefore Is it right that the guilt of father should be borne to himself only, and also the guilt of son to himself only too?

And also in the above question, the people cannot understand the verse of the Scripture that father's guilt should not be borne to his son (Ezk. 18:20) because they do not distinguish between the original sin and the actual sin, and know the two sins to be same. This sin means not the original sin but the actual sin. Further speaking in detail, this means the actual sin not to be connected with the original sin. The original sin takes a joint responsibility by the sin of the representative Adam, but the quilt of father takes an individual responsibility.

Therefore the sin of Adam is to once break the promise with God which made the covenant of works. It is not the sin which God has to many times forgive because it is a moment when to make decision of what is to be eternal life or eternal death according to the covenant of works. In this sense the original sin has to be certainly distinguished from the actual sins which our descendants are continuously committing many times.

The above question of the pastor can be easily solved. In other words, the problem can be solved by the distinction between the original sin and actual sin. Defining all unrighteousness as sin, in particular, the Bible keeps distinction of the sin of Adam from the sin of our descendant. In fact, the above guilts are the actual sins transgressed by the descendants.

\"Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come\"(Rom. 5:14). Here it should be made a distinction between the sin of Adam and the guilts of the other descendants, that is, the original sin and the actual sins. It is very important for us to understand our salvation.

In conclusion, summarizing briefly: (1) if the original sin should not be forgiven, the actual sins could not be forgiven forever (Heb. 10:26-29; 6:4-6). (2) on the contrary, the original sin should be forgiven, the actual sins could be forgiven (John 3:5; 5:24; 1 John 5:13). (3) therefore not leading to death(1 John 5:17). (4) not to sin because of the grace God keeps(1 John 5:18). (5) it is possible to repent even if committing a fault because it does not lead to death(John 5:16; 2 Cor. 7:9). (6) if the original sin does not blot out, crucify again the Son of God(Heb. 6:4), put Him to an open shame, and blaspheme against the Holy Spirit(Luke 12:10; Acts 6:11; Matt. 12:32). But (7) even though the children of God freed from the original sin may commit the actual sins, they should not transgress the sin as original sin led to eternal death.

Because they have born again to the essentially ontological change, which cannot commit the sins, that is, to blaspheme against God(Acts 6:11), to deny Jesus Christ(2 Tim. 2:12), and to speak a word against the Holy Spirit(Matt. 12:32; John 3:5-6; 1 Pet. 1:23; 1 John 3:9; 3;18). \"We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.\"(1 John 5:18). Hallelujah Amen! 😄😄😄
