(1) can refer to a specific, measurable length of time, or it can b figuratively mean a short time or moment (\\\\"at that very hour\\\\"). Both of these are close to the idea of chronos.

(2) but hora can also have a more kairos-type of meaning:

1) it is the hour
2) it is high time

[Con.] there is no legitimate distinction between the Greek and Hebrew conception of time on the basis of these two words alone.

1) they are Greek words!
2) the quality of time
3) the importance of a specific occasion more than just a string of passing moments, it is chronology, the order of history, that gives the context for decisive events.

2. \\\\"Kairos\\\\" (opportunity):

(1) regarding to the fulfillment of God's promise (NT)
(2) it merit more careful attention
(3) the origin of the word includes the meaning of:

1) right measure and correct proportion, that which is convenient, appropriate of fitting.

2) it could be used in positive contexts to signal opportunity or an advantageous situation, or in negative contexts to mean danger.

(4) especially in the people of event-oriented cultures

Ex. Chinese word \\\\"weiji\\\\" means \\\\"dangerous opportunity\\\\"

Ex. Japanese theologian Kosuke Koyama uses the same idea to describe the importance of Jesus, temptation

Ex. English meaning of the word is timing as opposed to just time. the word opportunity comes closest.
