도대체 행복이 무엇? (What The Heck Is Happiness?)-영어/한어
I lost my parents during the Korean War and was raised by my grandmother. As a result, I was very pessimistic about my future. My wife would divorce me, my children would abandon me, and I would die alone. This was the mental picture I had about my future.
The word “happy” was foreign to me. I didn’t even know what that word meant.
However, I began to experience happiness after I met Jesus. The unconditional love of God, walking daily with Jesus, and experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit slowly made me understand what happiness is.
Now I can truly say I am happy, but I still don’t know how to define “happy”. I am just grateful to God for giving me life and so many experiences, both good and bad
It breaks my heart seeing people ignore or reject Jesus, not realizing that He alone can give true happiness. So I pray today that my life is a reflection of and a witness for Jesus, as I prayed yesterday and will pray tomorrow.

전 양친을 육이오 전쟁 때 잃었기 때문에, 할머니께서 저를 키웠습니다. 이런 환경 때문인지 저는 어릴 적부터 인생에 관해 비관적이었습니다.
제가 머리에 그렸던 미래는, 아내에게 이혼 당하고, 자녀들에게 버림받고, 쪽 방에서 홀로 인생을 마감하는 것이었습니다. 행복이란 이해할 수 없는 단어였고, 행복해 진다는 것은 상상조차 할 수 없었습니다.
그랬던 제가 행복한 사람이 되었습니다. 예수님을 만나면서 시작 되었습니다. 하나님의 존재를 알게 되고, 부활하여 살아 계신 예수님을 경험하고, 성령님의 능력을 체험해 가면서 서서히 행복한 사람이 되어갔습니다.
그러나 아직도 행복을 말로 정의하라면 어려움을 느낍니다. 꼭 말로 표현해야 한다면, 살아있는 것 자체가 고마운 것이라고 해야 할까? “아예 안 태어났더라면 좋았을 텐데…” 이런 생각을 하며 살았다면, 이제는 하나님께서 생명을 주신 것이 감사하고, 살아있다는 것 자체가 기쁩니다.
행복을 알고 아니까, 예수 믿지 않는 사람들이 더 불쌍해집니다. 분명히 행복해지고 싶은 갈구가 마음속에 있을 텐데, 예수님이 해답이라는 가능성조차 생각지 못하며 사니 말입니다.
그래서 이들을 위해 어제도 기도했고, 오늘도 기도하고, 내일도 기도할 수밖에 없습니다.
