선택과 집중 (Choose and Stick)-영어/한글
I have met quite a few celebrities who’ve made names for themselves in various fields such as politics, business, academics, and sports. I find that they all have one tendency in common - they choose a few life principles and stick to them until they succeed.
I think the principle of ‘choose and stick’ is important in this current era of over-information. With so much information available, we will be overwhelmed unless we choose a few principles that are essential for achieving our life goals, and we stick to them until we succeed.
To choose and stick is a very important rule for pastors as well. Pastors should not be distracted by every new theology, a new church model, or a different way to do ministry. They should select a ministry model which is Biblical and has shown productive results. Otherwise valuable ministry time and energy will be wasted by just searching and learning, not bearing any fruit.

정치, 경제, 학문, 스포츠 등 다양한 분야에서 성공한 사람들을 만나볼 기회가 있었습니다. 이들에게는 공통점이 있었습니다. 중요한 몇 가지를 원칙을 붙들고 끝까지 버텼다는 것입니다. 선택과 집중이 이들의 특징이었습니다.
선택과 집중은 정보 홍수 속에 사는 현대인에게 필수적입니다. 그러지 않으면 넘치는 정보에 압도되어, 우왕좌왕 하다가 아무것도 성취하지 못하고 인생을 낭비하게 될 것입니다. 모임도 선택해서 참석하고, 책도 선택해서 읽고, 사람도 선택해서 만나야 합니다.
선택과 집중은 목회자들에게 절대적으로 필요합니다. 새로운 신학이 등장하거나, 새로운 교회 모델이 제시되거나, 누가 새로운 목회 방법을 주장할 때마다 기웃거리면 안 됩니다. 평생 동안 이것 저것 기웃대다가 목회를 마감할 수 있습니다.
자신이 목회의 천재(?)가 아니라면, 세월을 거쳐 검증된 성경적인 교회 모델이나 목회 모델을 하나 선정하여, 약속된 열매가 보일 때까지 집중하고 반복할 때 세월을 낭비하지 않게 될 것입니다.
